Were they perhaps an African branch of the Dominican Order of Missionaries (similar to these) or something even more macabre?
A gang of eight people were spotted dressed in white capes and black habits in Nuthall.

The group, wearing the capes over their heads, looked to be 'doing something tribal', according to police reports.

They were spotted by a passerby coming out of the woods near Sandy Lane. The group asked the walker and his friend to join them in their ceremony, to which they declined.

They were described as African origin.

There were about seven cars in the layby, all believed to be owned by the group members.

They were spotted on May 10 at about 3am.

If anybody sees any similar suspicious behaviour they should call the police on 101.
