Despite this, many pubs are celebrating the ocassion with beer festivals, family fun day activities and hog roasts, etc. A great weekend of activity throughout the country.
Locally, the Radford Branch of the Royal Society are holding their annual St. George's Day Parade 2015
''We would like to announce the 11th annual St. George's Day awareness Parade in Nottingham.
The Parade will commence from The Forest Rec at 12 pm and head down Mansfield Rd into Milton Street, Turn Right at Burger King then Left onto King Street, into the Market Sq and fall out on Long Row (Debenhams).
We will be assembling at the Forest Rec at 11am onwards. The parade has been funded and organised by the Royal Society of St.George Radford Branch .
The parade will be joined by The Branch Colours being lead by 2 x St. George's on a horse. We will have a disco on board and a 2nd lorry with fancy dress for everyone to join in.
Once the parade has arrived in the Square, you can join The Branch back at The Pheasant Inn Radford for the traditional annual celebrations , including the Raffle ( drawn at 6pm) Food in the beer garden and bouncy castle and many more activities! Enjoy both events as there will be plenty of time as we expect to arrive in the Square at 12.45pm. This years Raffle is being held with funds going towards the cost of the Parade, 1st Prize = £200- Richard Carroll 2nd Prize £100 - Alan Williams 3rd Prize £50 = Antony Wilcox, may thanks thanks to everyone.

Conveniently, the parade will pass by the Rose of England pub, Mansfield Road which should be adorned in red and white and is holding a beer festival too.
