Rafal Idziaszek, of Beauvale Road in the Meadows, Nottingham, is alleged to have taken a small quantity of alcohol from the Three Ponds pub, on Kimberley Road, sometime on Saturday April 4.
The 53-year old is also facing a separate charge of criminal damage, after windows at the Holy Trinity Church in Kimberley were broken sometime between April 2 and April 5.
Idziaszek has been bailed from police custody.
He is also to attend Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Friday, May 15
