Did you see Radford Betfred robbery?

The Police are looking for witnesses to a robbery at a Radford bookmakers, which happened at around 9.15pm on Sunday evening (8 February 2015).

A lone man entered the Betfred bookmakers at the junction of Ilkeston Road and Radford Boulevard, where he threatened a cashier before making off with a quantity of cash.

 The man intimated he was carrying a firearm although none were seen. Staff were left shaken but otherwise unharmed following the incident.

 The offender is described as black, around 5ft 5ins tall and is of slim-to-medium build.

His face was partially covered and he was wearing dark clothing. He was last seen running from the shop in the direction of Ilkeston Road and Forrester Street.

 PC Caroline Dobson from Nottinghamshire Police said, “The bookmakers is situated close to a busy junction and we are appealing for anyone that saw anything suspicious – whether it be anyone loitering nearby or running away – to contact us.

 “Thankfully, no-one was injured during the robbery but we know that these incidents have had a dramatic impact on those involved, who are targeted as they go about their everyday work.

 “Enquiries are continuing and we are appealing to anyone with information to come forward to help find those responsible.”
