An 84-year-old was robbed of her purse yesterday (Thursday 10 July 2014) afternoon.
It happened in Forest Road at about 12.40pm as she walked from the supermarket at the junction with Waverley Street.
She was followed by two men who then took her purse. In the attack the victim was pushed to the floor and sustained cuts and bruises to her hands and legs.
She is extremely shaken by the incident. Both offenders are mixed race, of a slim build and in their early 20s.
One was wearing cut off trousers, the other was wearing jeans.Neither was wearing a top. Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area who may have seen the robbery or the men.
They ran off in the direction of Forest Recreation Ground.
